What to know before you buy.
The Jardini Arowana, also called the Australian Pearl Arowana, is a strikingly beautiful predator native to northern Australia and New Guinea. It features intricate crescent-shaped scale markings with red or pink edging that intensify with age. More aggressive and territorial than the Silver Arowana, the Jardini is renowned for its feisty personality and willingness to attack anything — including its keeper's hand during feeding. Available in the South African trade.

A minimum 950L aquarium suits Jardini Arowana. Use robust décor and sight breaks so each fish can hold its own space.
Water parameters
Keep pH 6–7.5 and 24–30°C. Stable parameters matter more than chasing perfect numbers; acclimate new arrivals slowly.
Feeding
Carnivore. Feed small amounts it clears in a couple of minutes, and vary the diet.
