Is FishHub free to use?
Yes. Browsing, searching, comparing prices, and setting unlimited stock alerts are free forever. FishHub Pro (R99/mo) adds full price history, custom alert rules, and early access to rare drops — see Pricing for details.
What exactly does FishHub do?
FishHub indexes real prices and stock from verified South African aquarium shops so you can compare across all of them from one search, plus a free Marketplace to buy, sell, trade, and adopt directly with fellow hobbyists.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Species search, shop listings, and price comparisons are open to everyone. You only need a free account to save alerts, message sellers, or list something on the Marketplace.
Marketplace
Is it safe to buy from the Marketplace?
FishHub is the operator, not the seller — deals happen directly between buyers and sellers. Meet safely, and never pay before you see the item. Verified shops carry extra trust signals; see our Live Arrival Guarantee for how courier-shipped livestock is protected.
Does FishHub take a cut of Marketplace sales?
No. Listing and selling on the Marketplace is free for all registered users.
How do I contact a buyer or seller?
Use FishHub’s in-app messaging on any listing — no need to hand out a phone number or join a WhatsApp group.
Shipping & safety
How does shipping work for live fish?
Verified sellers ship livestock Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend depot delays, using double-bagged, insulated packaging. Full details in our courier safety guide.
What if my order arrives dead on arrival (DOA)?
Contact the seller within 2 hours of delivery with photos of the unopened bags. See the full DOA claim process.
Account & billing
How does FishHub Pro billing work?
Your card is charged R99/mo (or the annual price) immediately on checkout, then automatically every billing period. Cancel anytime from Settings — access continues until the end of the paid period.
What payment methods are accepted?
We use PayFast, which accepts Visa, Mastercard, EFT, and Instant EFT. All transactions are secured by PayFast.
Do I need Pro to use the Marketplace?
No. Buying, selling, trading, and adopting on the Marketplace is free for all registered users.
