Cookie Policy
Applies across the whole FishHub platform.
Last updated 2026-06-15 · Version 1.0.0-draft
This Cookie Policy explains how FishHub (operated by FishHub (Pty) Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://fishhub.co.za, and how you control them. It supports our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They let a site remember you, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.
2. The categories we use
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the platform to work — for example keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, security, and load balancing. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off, because the site cannot function without them.
2.2 Analytics (off until you accept)
These help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it (for example Firebase/Google Analytics). They do not load until you give consent through our cookie banner.
2.3 Marketing / advertising pixels (off until you accept)
If we use advertising or social pixels (for example a Meta pixel), they measure campaigns and audiences. They do not load until you give consent. We currently load these only after explicit acceptance.
3. Your control
When you first visit, our banner lets you Accept or Reject non-essential cookies. Until you accept, only strictly-necessary cookies are set, and analytics and marketing technologies are genuinely blocked from loading.
You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link (in the footer / banner). Withdrawing consent stops future non-essential cookies; you can also clear existing cookies in your browser settings.
4. Cookies and the two roles
Cookies are about how you use the platform and apply across both the marketplace and the FishHub Store. They do not change who the seller is in any transaction: on the marketplace the Seller is always the shop or community member; in the Store the seller is always FishHub.
5. Changes
We may update this Policy as our use of cookies changes. The version and "last updated" date above reflect the current version.
