About This Species
The Blue Striped Mushroom is a common and attractive *Discosoma* mushroom. It typically has a blue or purple base with radiating, fluorescent blue or green stripes. They are very hardy, peaceful, and an excellent beginner coral. They thrive in low-light and low-flow environments, making them perfect for filling in the bottom of a reef tank. They reproduce by splitting and will form a dense, colorful carpet over time. An interesting fact is their hardiness; they are so successful that they are considered an invasive species in some parts of the Caribbean.
