What to know before you buy.
The Blue Linckia is one of the most striking and recognizable starfish, famed for its brilliant, deep blue coloration. It is a scavenger that feeds on bacterial films and detritus, slowly moving over live rock and glass. Unfortunately, it has a very poor survival rate in captivity. It is extremely sensitive to any changes in water parameters, especially salinity and pH, and often dies from starvation or acclimation stress. They should only be attempted by expert aquarists with large, very mature systems. An amazing fact is its ability to regenerate an entire new body from just a single severed arm.
