About This Species
The Bird's Nest Coral is a classic Small Polyp Stony (SPS) coral, beloved for its delicate, thin, and densely interwoven branches that form a "nest-like" colony. It's often pink, green, or yellow, with sharp, pointed branch tips. It's considered a good "beginner" SPS, as it's slightly more forgiving than Acropora, but still needs high light and strong flow. It is semi-aggressive and can sting nearby corals. A fascinating fact is its fragility; the branches are very brittle and can be broken easily, which is also its primary method of fragmentation in the hobby.
