Freshwater Flounder

Often called a Hogchoker, this fascinating flatfish is a master of camouflage, blending perfectly with a sandy substrate. While young specimens can tolerate freshwater, they require low-end brackish conditions for long-term health. They are peaceful but shy bottom-dwellers that need a diet of sinking carnivorous foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
