Product details
Kalkwasser for topping up a reef - replaces evaporation while adding calcium and alkalinity. Mixed into top-up water so the tank is supplemented by the same process that replaces evaporation, which is why it suits an auto top-off. It raises pH sharply, so it goes in slowly rather than all at once. Dose per the instructions on the tub.
- Mixing
- 3 g (1 teaspoon) per 4 L of water; 6 g per 4 L for a saturated solution
- Effect
- 4 L of saturated solution into 150 L raises calcium by 24 mg/L
- How to use
- Drip the clear supernatant into the tank; never add powder direct to the tank
- Form
- Calcium hydroxide powder, 535-540 mg calcium per gram
- Caution
- Causes burns - flush skin or eyes with water for 5-10 minutes
