Magnesium for reef tanks - the parameter that keeps calcium and alkalinity holdable. When magnesium runs low, calcium and alkalinity stop responding to dosing and precipitate out instead, which is why a reef that will not hold its numbers is usually short of magnesium first. Dose per the instructions on the tub.
