About This Species
The Yellow Clown Goby is a tiny, bright yellow fish with a comical, hovering swimming style and a big personality. It's a 'nano' fish, perfect for smaller reef tanks. In the wild, they live among the branches of *Acropora* corals, and they will replicate this behavior in an aquarium, often perching on coral or rockwork. They are peaceful towards other species but can be territorial with their own kind unless they are a mated pair. An interesting (and cautionary) fact is that they produce a toxic, bitter mucus on their skin to deter predators, which can become a problem in a very small tank if the fish dies or is severely stressed.
