About This Species
The Springer's Damsel is a highly sought-after fish, not just for its deep, velvety-blue color, but for its utility. It is one of the few fish known to eat parasitic flatworms, a common reef tank pest. Like Talbot's Damsel, it is one of the most peaceful damselfish species, making it a fantastic, reef-safe addition to almost any community tank. It is small, hardy, and will spend its time darting in and out of the rockwork. An interesting fact is that its peaceful nature is well-documented, a significant exception to the rule for the territorial and aggressive *Chrysiptera* genus.
