About This Species
The Orangespotted Sleeper Goby, or Maiden Goby, is another premier sand-sifting goby, prized for its functional and peaceful nature. It has a long, white body adorned with numerous bright orange spots, making it more colorful than many other sand-sifters. Like its relatives, it requires a well-established, deep sand bed to forage for microfauna. It is vital to have a tight-fitting lid, as all *Valenciennea* gobies are notorious jumpers. These fish work tirelessly, and it's fascinating to watch them meticulously clean and turn over the entire sand bed of a large aquarium in just a few days.
